to add a little bit of complication....
my midwife just called to let me know that my group B strep test was positive. homebirth still on, but now with IV antibiotics added in. she wasn't too concerned since it's pretty common, and the bacteria can come and go (it even may not be there at the birth). on the one hand, this finally gives me an explanation for why my water broke prior to labor the first two times. on the other, it's a nuisance i would've rather avoided. hopefully it won't be too much of an alteration to our plans.

you and your family are in my thoughts. as much as you want to get the diss. done, once you are holding this little person it will all make sense again. I can't wait to see some photos of the big brothers!
is water breaking before contractions a strep b thing? mine did and i was positive, but i've known other women who were positive but had contractions first. hmmm...
Bran, the GBS+ isn't related to your history of your water breaking before contractions. That is just a tendancy. No worries on the GBS as long as its treated. It will be IV antibiotics every 4 hours once you are in labor, they can just hook up the bag and run it in 15-30 minutes and then disconnect it. Good luck!
